In 1931, in his book The Epic of America, James Truslow states: The American Dream is "that dream of a land in which life should be better and richer and fuller for everyone, with opportunity for each according to ability or achievement. But why is such a dream so difficult for the upper class Nigerians to accept and too many of us ourselves have grown weary and mistrustful of it. It is not a dream of motor cars and high wages merely, but a dream of social order in which each man and each woman shall be able to attain to the fullest stature of which they are innately capable, and be recognized by others for what they are, regardless of the fortuitous circumstances of birth or position.
In the United States’ Declaration of Independence,their founding fathers: "…held certain truths to be self-evident, that all Men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." Might this sentiment be considered the foundation of the American Dream? Yes, but on what foundation should the Nigerian dream stand? Our anthem, it is a powerful piece, Mr. Ben Odiase, the writer was a sane futuristic person, the last line of the first stanza rightly states; ‘one nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.’ Our anthem speaks of JUSTICE, PEACE, FREEDOM, UNITY AND GREAT LOFTY HEIGHTS, but the big question is; ‘are we living in these things?’
Was it our past leaders? Is it the internet? Is it the movies? Was taking the Nigeria values away? Who is responsible for the mess in the country? Me? You? Or them? Evey body is pointing fingers. Did you not say you will eat the national cake? Who will bake it? I say me, but who is with me? That is what we fear, we have been standing alone for too long. We want to hear your opinion, which Nigerian would you say has lived the Nigerian dream? Awolowo? Azikiwe? Obasanjo? You? Fela Anikulapo? Wole Soyinka? Achebe? Just who? Some say, that the American Dream has become the pursuit of material prosperity - that people work more hours to get bigger cars, fancier homes, the fruits of prosperity for their families - but have less time to enjoy their prosperity. Others say that the American Dream is beyond the grasp of the working poor who must work two jobs to insure their family’s survival. Maybe it is high time we start a crucial debate on the Nigerian dream, to you, ‘WHAT IS THE NIGERIAN DREAM?’ respond today, and give fellow Nigerians a focus.

85,000 immigrants to the united states start their own businesses ecvery month, that is 1,020,000 immigrants to the U.S start their own business every year. How about the U.S citizens? Let's not just go there because, if we do, the statistics will be too scary. If 1million Nigerians start their own businesses every year, then there will be no complain aboput unemployment. T here is no compulsion or law divine that Nigerian citizens must work for the government or be a politician. There is also no law that because you are graduate of whatsoever great course you read, you must work with your certificate, working in the oil sector is not the only route to wealth. Infact, it os only one among the 1million routes to wealth

U niversity graduates have now become okada riders, armed robers, millitants, beggars, motor-boys, thugs and ven worse because they were wiating for good white-collar jobs which never came. Some out of frustration even kill themselves. But, I have very good news for you- "you have not tried enough". Why not start your own business now! "Me?" "Yes-you!", you too can run a miilion-naira sorry a million-dollar business, sell something, producer something, repackage something...just start something and you will discover a shocking truth- there a 101 business you can start on your own with little or no capital. "Oh! I've heard that before." Well, this is not about what you have heard beofre but about what you have done before. Even if you have tried and failed before, try again and fail forward. Nigeria do not need more churches or mosques or stadiums or more banks, She needs more entrepreneurs. More out-of-the-box thinkers.

Bill Gates started his own business, Dangote started his own business, Johnson Johnson, Michael Ibru, Ibrahim Jimoh and I did same. We did not need to be in government first, we only needed to make up our mind, you too can make up your mind. Think in this lin; people who work in the oil sector do not drink oil, eat oil, sleep on oil or wear oil neither do they drive oil, so whoever meets thses needs have just mde money for himself.

The country's minister of information said that there are only 10% employment for graduates in this country, the big question is; "what will the other 90% be doing?" now, you are vexed to do something, please don't plan all day long, like the Nike ad-"just do it". We have too many 'Martin Luthers" already, wake up from your dream and do something. Remember; "the man who say it can't be done is always interrupted by the man who just did it".

There is always a better ways of doing what you are doing now, better ways of drssing, beter ways of talking , infact, imagine what you want to become in the next ten years, talk, dress and live like it. live your tomorrow from today.

3.ENLARGE YOUR PICTURE;
There is one place where you can always win-YOUR MIND! What kind of future do you se in your mind? It is what you see you will seize. T he things you can't do are the things you can't imagine. Dream! And if you thinkl your dream is too big...dream bigger!

4. DARE TO VENTURE: Don't dream all day long, wake up and do something,. Success won't meet you at your house. 'what if i miss", you ask, "what if you miss out" i say. Life is a risk they say, but not to take a risk is a bigger risk: if you can not fly, run,. if you can not run, walk. if you can not walk, cramw. if you can not craw, row....just keep moving.

it killed choice,
so, it controls it,
don't you just rely on choice,
to macke choices, find it,
